Students and parents gathered in the Performing Arts Center for Branham’s Got Talent on Feb. 3.
Branham’s Got Talent is a spin on the television show America’s Got Talent, showcasing students’ musical performances and contests. The first-place performance wins a cash prize of $100.

The Self-Taught Legends play “Strasbourg St. Denis.”
Junior Shravan Saranyan, who hosted and participated in the showcase, had fun with the event.
“People usually congregate together and have a lot of fun with their friends at the performance,” Saranyan said. “That’s why you saw everyone smiling, having a good time. This is probably one of my favorite concerts because it’s just fun.”
Sophomore Yebin Ahn, who played the piano alongside sophomore Jiho Choi on the guitar, wanted to perform in front of an audience to try something new.
“I have been playing piano since I was five, and I never actually performed in front of everyone,” Ahn said. “This is my first actual contest or performance.”
Ahn experienced many emotions on stage, but eventually found excitement as she continued with her duet.
“At first, I was very, very nervous because it was my first performance,” Ahn said. “[But] as I’m playing, I have to engage more with my piano and also with my partner.”
Junior Chloe Gao encourages people to show off their talents and participate in Branham’s Got Talent.
“If you’re into music, and you want an opportunity to throw yourself out there and try new things, I would say to totally do it,” Gao said. “It’s less of a strict concert, and it’s a great opportunity to branch out.”
