On Thursday, energy filled the gym as the classes went head to head during the annual Battle of the Classes (BOTC) Night Rally.
The rally included three rounds of dance battle with juniors in first place, sophomores in second, seniors in third and freshmen in fourth. In between rounds, students competed to gain points for their classes through games including four corners, find the item, blindfolded musical buckets and wig snatching.
Sophomore Vice President Timothy Silver expressed how the BOTC rally connects students and spreads joy on campus.

“We all need something good to look forward to, especially going into finals and AP testing,” Silver said. “It serves as a really fun moment.”
Emcee and junior dance battle co-lead Alex Wray enjoys participating in the dances because students can express themselves and have fun.
“I really love dance battle,” Wray said. “It’s a place where we can all come closer together and hang out more.”
Wray highlights the importance of working around unexpected challenges during the rally, making sure to preserve a positive attitude and maintain high energy.
“The main way to cope with it is to just jump in, put a smile on your face, just do it and just roll with it,” Wray said.

Silver explains how contributing to campus spirit through the rally is an important part of creating an inclusive and engaging school environment.
“I love contributing so much to campus spirit because it brings everyone a good vibe, and it helps everyone feel more seen on campus,” Silver said.

Wray encourages students to take part in school events and make the most of opportunities to get involved, emphasizing that these moments are short and meant to be cherished.
“Go to more rallies. Participate in your school stuff,” Wray said. “Even if you embarrass yourself, so what? It is so much fun, and you’re never going to forget it.”
